I did not know about Dave A show till someone said something at our show.
The church also did not put a banner up till just a few days ago as I go by every Sunday for food shopping and did not see it the week before.

Sometimes you have to get cars & trucks out for a nice long drive.
I bet that load of wood smelled great

I tried to richen the carb up but not knowing what tool it used and the small hole you have to go thru I pulled the top, made and adjustment, check that the screw drive fit the hole and put it back together. The test ride it was even leaner and when I stop to make adjustment the screw driver was to short
Came back and made something that should work but going thru a vary small hole it is hard to tell if you are doing anything so adjust, test, adjust etc.
Never got it richer so gave up for the day.

I need to fix the miss and I think that is a bad pick up coil so will pick up in Raleigh on way home one night.
But the truck dose run a lot better so can make shows this weekend and pull the trailer.

Well we do not need the trailer again until Old North State Food Hall cruise-in on Sunday the 29th. But while we are on the subject of the trailer, we did ask 2 months ago for someone to look into getting a cover for it, Mac said he would check around. He sent me 3 options found on Amazon, all were less than $300. I want to discuss at the meeting but I definitely want to know first how you feel about it, since it's at your house and you would be the one having to put it on and take it off for the most part.

I think a cover is a good ideal. For a cover what is the club / you looking to have it do?
If not for the trailer its self then something for the tires to protect from the sun's UV as that will kill them in no time.
They do make tire covers just for that or could get plywood to cover them.

A full cover are you talking something like a car cover that sits right on the trailer (sounds like it) or one of them garage type you would drive / back under?
My take, the cover that sits on the trailer other than keeping the sun off the black part "I think" it will do vary little for heat inside.
You would need an air gap between the cover and the trailer, like shade dose so you get air flow between the cover and trailer.

Mary is home sick,, this after the afib thing on Monday that we did not get home till after 10pm, so I am home with here today.
She wants to go to urgent care at some point and if I can want to take a ride to Raleigh for the pickup coil but I am here for Mary first.
I dont think I can make the meeting, work and all, but maybe we can meet up before and talk?

I hope Mary is feeling better soon, I'm confused if you wrote this yesterday or if it was earlier this morning. I can't remember if this site uses the local time of the user, Pacific time, or GMT!

At one of the meetings, after we sold the little carport thing back to the man who used to keep the trailer, we discussed whether we should buy / build another one, because a few people said how the rain and sun will take a toll on the trailer and cause us to have the same problems as we did on the old one, with the logo faded and water damage from anywhere water can find to get in to the plywood inside. So it was agreed that Mac would look for some options because he was one of the ones saying we needed it. One of the ones he showed me has wheel covers. But to me looking at it, how would 1 person put the cover on? It looks like a lot of effort. But on the plus side it has a zip-up door to allow access to the trailer door without removing the whole thing.

Forecast shows rain for Saturday, I am guessing all the shows will be canceled unless something changes & improves in the next couple of days.

Thanks about Mary I need to call work and tell them I am taking Friday off also.
I had to pick up meds from CVS that urgent care ordered and when I got home asked Mary what they were for?
She then told me she also had an ear infection with this Covid!
If I was not into her for 25 years I would trade her in, yesterday was 25 years married what a way to spend it LOL

I was thinking the same thing on the shows on Saturday and keeping an eye on the weather.
Maybe Dave A will have something to say at the meeting if his church show is rain or shine?

On the cover I was also thinking if it was a car cover type how could 1 person get it on & off as the trailer has square corners and it would not move well over them.
That is why I was thinking one of them half round type garages it could be backed into I just dont know how much they run?
I know up north they dont last long because we got a lot of heavy snow and wind and they would fold under the weight.
Dont here I have not seen a lot of heavy snow or even ice that would be an issues with it but could be wrong too?
Wind seams to be the biggest thing here and as long as it is ancored to the ground good should not be a problem I would think.
Will wait and see what the club gets.

Oh I am still working on the pickup.
After I changed the plugs, one was really bad and how it was firing and not showing up as a miss all this time I dont know?
The plugs stopped the bucking but can feel a miss more so under a load but even at cruise power.

Some have been after me to replace the plug wires and being I pulled the metal out of one I replaced them all this morning.
I even used a little dielectric grease in the plug end when putting them back on.
It may have helped a little more but I can still feel a miss but it kind of comes and goes?

With the new carb, that I had and part of the trouble shooting, it runs pretty lean based on my AFR gauge.
I am going to try and see if I can richen it up and see if this is a lean miss now.
I also picked up a pickup coil for inside the dist. as I think that is the cause now but will see.

Well we fatten up the carb from high 15's to low 17's to high 14's to low 15's just where I think it should be.
I can still feel a miss thru out the truck but at this point I am going to hold off on the pick up coil till I get a good run in like to Benson on the high way and then back roads home, and see how it dose.

I still need to put the adjustment plug back in the carb so it will not leak out gas and install the air filter assy.
But it should be good to pull the trailer for the food Hall get together.

I got to thinking if doing plugs & wires, I broke one wire and other felt because of age 8 years but only really used 4, that is also best to pick up a cap & rotor even that the old ones looked good.
This way I know from coil, yes coil too, to the plugs are all new for a "tune up".

Tomorrow I will change the car / rotor and see if that changes the miss.

My son did the air filter, gas filter and breather not long ago even changed the oil & filter too.

Well one thing for sure, the truck is getting an all inclusive tune-up!

Dave read a text from the church person that is overseeing the show. Basically he said, it's a rain or shine event, they hope people can bring their cars out but they understand if we don't, however, even if we don't bring our rides out for the show they would love it if we got in our regular cars and drove up there to make a donation to their food drive. On the flyer it just says "canned goods" so I figured I will stop at Food Lion and buy a bunch of stuff.

Regarding the trailer cover, I passed around the sheet that had 3 different options on it, said look it over but no need for us to make a decision tonight. So that is tabled for another month. I would like it if you found an example of what you're talking about and see what the cost is, that could be a 4th option to discuss.

Poor Mary she spends more time under the weather than in it!

Yep the truck is getting the full work up tune up LOL

Ok rain or shine at Mt Zion good to know as I will show up with the truck then.
I will also have the canopy for cover. Think my rain coat is in the work truck
The flyer also side they would take donations so I am thinking of going that way.
This way someone can get what is needed and not end up with a lot of cans of cream corn

Do you know if the Selma show is also rain or shine as the flyer dose not say.
Dose have contact info guess could call?

I am also still up for the C&C in Garner on Sunday

On the cover I will have to get some measurements of the trailer so I can start looking for what I am talking about to show and get a few prices.

The Selma show is rescheduled for next week.

Kaye Beasley sent me a message yesterday to say they were rescheduling.

I'll plan on going as well, do you want to meet at the Sheetz at 9am? I don't know if anyone else will bring their car out if it's going to be raining.

Little up date on me.
Last night before I went to bed I started felling sick, Covid from Mary?
Mary said I was going to urgent care first thing in the morning.

Well I got to say I felt like crap when I got up.
After trash run headed to Angier to see the Dr.
On the way Tony texted me if I was going to My Zion show and told him I was at Dr. and not going.

Well I dont have Covid or it was to soon to test but she gave me pills to take for the head cold I am showing signs of.
I then went home and crawled into bed for a few hours.
About 5pm I went out to pick up my pills and Tony went flying by in the bug.

I am feeling better now but I dont think I want to push it for the Garner C & C on Sunday and may even call in sick for Monday.
What is 1 more day after a week right LOL

I kinda figured C&C wasn't going to happen, after Tony read me your text yesterday. And I don't think anybody except you and me were going to go anyway.
The car show was a washout, even though they said rain or shine, they figured that morning that nobody was going to come, so they canceled the show. Which I didn't know. So they were surprised when we pulled up, but we donated a couple cases of canned food, then hung out in the shelter with them for a couple of hours. Then around 5pm we all met at Jordana's, luckily the rain was over but turnout was pretty bad, maybe 6 or 7 cars.
I guess you will know for sure whether to call out for tomorrow later in the day based on if you are feeling any better.

Well I been knocked out pretty good all this week. Last week I was out of work to take care of Mary
Dr said I cant give this to anyone after Thru. so no work all week and Fri I get the eye needle (if I feel good enough) so out that day too.

If I feel good enough I seen the Selma show rain date is on Saturday

I an still messing with the pickup, got the bucking down to a little miss I can feel under a load all the time now.
Plugs made a big change but still have cap & rotor to swap and a pickup coil in the dist.
Maybe tomorrow if I feel up to it I will do the cap / rotor?

Glad you are on the mend. Been a rough couple of weeks for you. The Mt Zion show ended up being canceled, although they did not tell anymore, but still held the canned food collection. So me and Tony and Andre went up there with load of food to donate, ended up just parking and hanging out in the shelter with Dave A and the rest of his church members. They had coffee and donuts and several people came by to donate, they filled up a picnic table and benches.

The Johnston church car show is rescheduled for this weekend, that's the one in Selma, if you are up to it and the truck is up to it. The same day is a car show and timed run at Galot Motorsports park (aka Dunn Benson drag strip), and my friend Larry is running his alcohol 63 Vette dragster, and club member Jose is going there to run his new drag car, which is a 95 Mustang with a Chevy motor. He says it's his secret weapon. I wish I could go to both events!
