Hot, brown, and lots of it. So good on a cold, rainy day. When I was a kid going hunting and fishing, we cooked most of the organically harvested protein in tomato, onion, garlic, and ginger. We also added whatever vegetable and herbs we had. But this was the basic recipe.
Oh yeah. More than I expected. 0.30" yesterday, and another 0.11" this morning. Rumor is that today is going to be the warmest day of the week, but right now we are in fogville.
Cold here this morning. Had an eye exam at the VA today, and my eyes are going to be blurry for a while. No word on the truck yet. Went to check but they are closed today.
Yesterday (Monday) we were in Fogville until almost 10:00. Sunny and nice the rest of the day. Today, we are in full sun, and it's looking to be real nice. Tomorrow may be another story though.
Today's high is predicted to be 77 and tomorrow will be 76. There is currently a "rabbit fire" 47 miles away. Doesn't affect me. I will be filling in at church tonight as the regular security officer is on vacation. I usually only work Wednesday nights, and every other month on Sundays. This month is an off month so I will work the month of November unless I am needed in the elementary classes as a teacher aide. All of this is voluntary. no monetary compensation otherwise I would need a guard card, and teacher's credentials. Since the repair shop where my trucks are is on the way to church, I will attempt to find how far they have progressed on the engine swap. They were closed yesterday, I think they take Sundays and Mondays off, as I know they are open on Saturday.
I don't get it. They vaccinated 200 and turned away 300. Why didn't they just tell those people to go across town? The place that I went to was a ghost town. When I walked up, only the nurses were there. No patients. When I left, there were only nurses. No patients. All the nurses were just playing with their phones and gossiping.
When they talk about disparities within specific communities, they never factor in real world circumstances. If there is a larger demand in a specific community, the staffing and defrosted vaccine dosages need to be adjusted accordingly. Obviously, it's not one sided. People don't seem to understand that there are clinics all over town, and that they could go to another clinic location.
Another real world circumstance is that in certain communities, which are allegedly underserved - members of that community don't want the service. The clinic which I go to for shots is located in an area which is supposedly underserved. The reason that I go there, is because I've heard through the grapevine that there's never a wait in line. There's never a line. According to what health care providers have told me, they can't get members of that community to come in for even basic healthcare. My local government's Health Department spends a lot of money to ensure that the public health clinic in that neighborhood is overstaffed and oversupplied. Only for the members of that community to refuse services. Not just Covid vaccines. Flu, Pneumonia, and Shingles shots. Annual physicals. Birth control. Lab work. Hypodermic needle exchange. All of these services are provided at community health clinics - often free of charge for low income patients. It's hard to call it an underserved community, when they refuse services.
What did you do with the snake? Harvest it? Catch and release? Capture for domestication?
I cut it's head off with a shovel and throw it over the fence. There's nothing a rattlesnake does that a king snake or gopher snake won't do. They get to live.
Glad I don't live near you. I would freak out if I saw any kind of snake. LOL.
Fifty150, or you could go to the VA and get the shots for free. no line either. I had another appointment there today and got both flu and Covid shots there too.
In other news. According to the repair shop my truck should be finished by this weekend.
