Engine coolant temp sensor replacement?
It looks like there is "enough room" but I'd hate to get half way in only to realize that I'm only a quarter in.
I have replaced the thermostat and remember having to "jenga" to top section to get it out and back in. Seeing as the sensors are just a bit further I'm not sure if it can be done.
For reference my current temp sensor to the PCM is reading the coolant as CONSTANTLY HOT even when the engine has been cold for hours, pretty sure this is the cause of my truck's poor idle as it is the only sensor that is reading "out of normal" during live testing.
Thx
Steve
If you've got ClipIn style TempSensors, its possible to get them in+out without removing IntakeManifold,
though as you've said, it's very tight working space; best to remove the ThrottleBody.
If you've got ScrewIn TempSensors, then will likely need to remove the Intake.
Be aware, TempSensor to the PCM & TempSensor to the TempGage are NOT the same & are NOT interchangable;
different Voltage, different TempScale, different PlugKeying.
If you've still got a JunkPlastic ThermoStatHousing; recommend swapping in a new Aluminum version, while you're there.
Also consider renewing the 2 OilPressurized TimingTensioners (left one sits next to TStatHousing), while you're there,
if you've not done that in the last 100kMiles\12Yrs.
