Recall

Just got a recall notice for my 22 parking brake wiring harness. Anyone having issues? I have had 2 and didn't know what it was until now. Backed out of a parking spot and felt like I slammed on the brakes but foot wasn't on the pedal, the other time I was backing my boat up in the street to get in my driveway and the same thing happened. These 2 instances happened a few days apart but was months and a couple thousand miles ago and nothing since. 11000 miles on the truck and know I'm a little concerned because the notice says when dealers get parts we'll call. If you have systems come in for interim repair which probably means wrapping with tape. What do you think? Take it in or wait for the call?

I have that parking brake recall (23S35 / 23V509) and the windshield motor both scheduled for 10/11/23. A bit of research showed what was involved with the brake. It took just a few minutes to determine my truck had no issue. If I experienced the issue, I would have either done the temp tape issue or taken it in. If you consider it a safety issue, which it could become, ask if the dealer provides mobile service.

Do you have a picture of where the “rub” would be if present?

Just talked to the dealer about this and was told I need to bring the truck in but it'll be 2 weeks before they have an appointment for me. Some safety recall, oh and no parts to fix either just an inspection and if needed a temporary fix. So rather than crawling under myself and doing what the dealer is going to I need to take it to them so it's on the record incase something were to happen they couldn't blame me.

Good afternoon! Feel free to send us a DM with your vehicle's VIN and mileage. We'd be happy to look into this for you.

I had the WSW motor recall taken care of, just waiting for further instructions on the wire harness for my 2022 XLT.

I had the suspected brake issue recall done along with WW motor replacement and full service this week, 10/10/2023. I did not look to see or ask what they did. The truck was in the shop for about 2 1/2 hours.
