2018 F150 5.0. Had bad timing issue. Dealer says they "cycled the cam phasers". They were fouled possibly by dirty oil. Recommend changing oil more frequently. They said it may be a temporary fix? Looking to see if anyone had similar issue? Truck has 106,000 miles. Appreciate any comments/recommendations.

Cycled? I guess the inner workings were sludged or fouled somehow? Did you buy it new and do you baby it? The 5.0 doesn't respond well in the long run to babying.
Don't go by the oil change monitor, change your oil every 7k miles or so and use full synthetic rather than the semi synthetic. Also change the filter every time with a quality one. Then consider driving it aggressively for a few minutes a couple time of month. Wait until the engine is fully warmed and run it hard, not abusive, through the gears at wide open throttle.
Indeed, you need to change the oil very often with a properly rated premium synthetic (I forget the rating but Penzoil Platinum has it). Use Motocraft filters. Advance Auto will sell you a warrantee for $2.59 and will replace the oil filter for two years for free--saving you on maintenance. If you have the engine gunked up you can use something like BG EPR to dissolve the varnish very effectively--restoring the inside to a shine. Stay away from K&N air filters--they let very large amounts of large particles enter the engine and don't improve performance very much. Check out the Ford TechMakuloco channel on Youtube for other maintenance concerns.
FWIW, the 2010 F150 Lariat we had, had the cam phaser rattling.
Upon taking the truck apart, found that the engine was CLEAN. The ONLY oil it ever used was Motorcraft semi synthetic oil. Oil change NEVER went over 5,000 miles for service. Sometimes it got changed a bit earlies (by say2-300 miles), because I worked there, and if there was a spot open I used it.
The "lie-o-meter", as I call it that tells you how many miles until a oil change is not as dependable to me as the old pencil and paper, that I use to figure my appointments out.
Oil changes, IMO are crucial in these trucks. Too many things depend on an oil change, and it's basic maintenance that everyone should automatically take care of as a responsible truck owner !!
