replacing cabin filter ( blocked off) why?

replacing cabin filter ( blocked off) why?
Any one know why the cabin filter access is blocked off? Utube video shows you have to cut out the small access panel out to replace the air filter.

So ford didn't think the cabin filter would every have to be changed?????

It's an option. Your truck probably doesn't have one, as J Paycheck says. If you cut that piece out nothing will be behind it.

Ford says vin shows a filter, but blocked off. (That would smell real bad after 20 years) Ford said they had a fix for that later on. ???

you’ll have to pull the cover to see if it’s there.
I have never seen a 10th gen with a filter. Even my old ‘02 Lariat Supercrew didn’t have one.
I would argue that over 99% f150s from that time did not have one.

I added it to my 01 Screw when I had the dash off for heater core and evap. Also did the same for the 01 Expedition.
