as i was crawling around under my truck yesterday, i noticed that it doesn't have a jack. did these trucks come with one originally? or was it an option?
what are you guys using? and, where do you store it?
Read post #3 & #5 in this thread. Also, Econoline's used the same jacks. Figuring out where to put all that stuff is a bigger problem than finding it. I got everything out of an early 2000's F150. Spare tire hoist, jack with all the parts, and a good spare tire for $50. Where would I find my JACK? - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)

I don't deny that you found your items for that price or anything else. Different areas of the country have items and prices that others don't. Here, most vehicles are stripped and crushed before they are 10-15 years old. It's hard to walk out of a place without paying $100 for anything anymore.
Before we moved to FL, my wife and I used to walk the used parts yards, looking for the next vehicle we would take home and rebuild and sell. Never anything newer than 20 years old. If Ralph Nader didn't stamp his approval to it, and most that he did, you'd be pressed to find it around here.
We are just talking here, drifting off subject maybe but it beats a cigar bar full of last night's hookers or does it? Just sayin.🤔
Soak it in some ATF/ Acetone for awhile, then work it. I’ll bet it’ll come back to life.
That is what I thought of the jack for my 81 F100 as it was stiff and crunchy.
Used PB Blaster, a lot of it, and electrical drill and it got worst than better, till it locked up.
Now it just looks good, I painted it, sitting on the inner fender well to complete the look LOL
Heck it was 2 years latter that I got the spare tire that fits under the rear tank.

Well, mine is sitting in a 50/50 mix for a couple of days so I better get out there drain it. Then I will turn it by hand back and forth. Once good and drained, I'll put some weight on it and see if it got quiet. Thanks again!
Well I can feel it grinding still but much quieter. I saw a video, someone drilled out the four rivets holding the bottom on. Inside is a ring of bearings, not much else. I have a feeling those ball bearings get trashed and need to be replaced. Someday..

Well, it is worth a shot. I think Bill said that jack was used on many years, so ought not be difficult to get a replacement if it doesn’t work out.
