IDM PCM testing
Are there service facilities that can test these reasonably. The local junkyard got an 02 7.3 in and I pulled the PCM and the IDM as spares, but I would love to have them checked before putting them on the shelf. I’m pretty sure the truck was not running when it arrived…Thx.

tempting idea would be to send it in as a core return and have him send you one of his freshly rebuilt hi-voltage ones, and then keep the one that's in your truck as a spare. These do go bad because of where they are in the fender and water gets in the breather hole. They fix that when you buy one of his. When they go bad it's lights out with no warning, so one that's of unknown age or condition would make a me little leery unless the truck doesn't wander too far from home.
