Thinking about having my 02 Ranger transmission rebuilt by someone local. What do I have to do where reinstalled as far as the wear in procedure goes? I've never really worn in a tranny so kind of new to me.
My main questions are
How many miles does it take before it's fully worn in?
How should I treat it?
Is there anything I need to watch for or do throughout different points of the break in?

Make absolutely sure that the fluid level is correct. (It was rebuilt by somebody who you would think is an expert, but I've seen some crazy things done by rebuilders)
Occasionally check it for leaks. Decades ago, I had a transmission rebuilt by a shop that was so clean you could eat off the floor. (Yea, I wouldn't do it, either. Figure of speech) This place bragged that they rebuilt all the police cars for a local large municipality. I get my car home and it had a large leak. Large enough that it should have been caught before it left the shop.
