I'm not sure about picture one either, but here are two pictures of the rubber plugs that are the likely source of the leak.
The rubber plugs can be removed and RTV'd back in place.
My '88 has no floor cover in it, so all I had to do was slide the shifter boot up, put the transmission in neutral, remove the tunnel cover section of floor, remove the top transmission cover and clean and RTV the plugs.
You'll probably have to remove your shifter, since you probably have carpet in your truck.
When you're reassembling the top cover, get a funnel with a long hose and top off your transmission through the fill plug, or, even easier, fill it before putting the top plate on.
Will add that the transmission should be in neutral when you pull the 10 bolt top cover off.. Check the shift forks for wear. When they get thin they start jumping over the syrnocros and locking up. Great time to put all new Ford type F trans fluid in. Drain fluid and remove fill plug. Put new fluid easily in from the open cover. Replace fill plug when fluid starts coming out of it. Cover has a rubber gasket that you reuse. Tranny is I think a M5OD for search help. Or the R model? About the same thing.

Thank you guys for your help. I ordered the new plugs. There is a great Youtube video on the process.
Thanks Again!
I would still like to know what that lever with the bolt missing is.
WC
I don't know why my phone is quoting sandymane in this response, but I found a YouTube video that explains the lever and bolt at 3:30 and 9:30.
It's a "5th-Reverse Counter Lever Lock Plate" and bolt.

Thank you VERY much for digging and finding that. I really appreciate that!
