easy way to tell a 2 speed ford-o-matic from a C-4 or 3 speed select-o-shift/green dot trans:
ford-o-matic has cooling screens in the bellhousing and no trans cooler lines.
the 3 speed trans has no cooling screens and trans fluid lines going to a cooler in the radiator.
THANX!

This transmission came out of a running Ford Falcon (similar to Ranchero), believe it was 1960-1964 Model. It was connected to an in-line 6, I believe a 170 cid.
Would like to offer it for sale but not quite sure how to describe it. I believe it may be a 2 speed Fordomatic. Any help?

Only A/T available in 1960/64 Falcon 144/170 I-6's & 1963 1/2 & 1964 260 V8: Anemic Ford-O-Matic two speed. It's get up and go, got up and went.
