Maybe I'm just real bad at searching but how easy is it to remove the chrome strip on the sides of a Limited? I see lots of body cladding removal threads but didn't find one for just the chrome strip on each side. Is it just held on with double sided tape and no fasteners or holes if I remove? If it is just the tape, do I just start with getting a sharp knife blade behind it and then work with heavy fishing line down the length of it at least until enough is pulled away so I can grip with my hands and pull off? Ultimately I would like to get the Limited emblem off, not surebut I think that would leave holes behind, not sure.
It's part of the cladding, either glued to the cladding face, or secured from behind with something like through posts....
A 3 sec search shows that it's fastened to the face of the cladding.
Thanks 01. That 3 second search doesn't seem to show if there's anything behind the chrome strip other than maybe tape where the one end is pried up. Backside of the cladding doesn't indicate anything.

Click on the Ebay link and look at the pics, the chrome trim is starting to fall off the cladding, because it's taped to the front of the cladding and the backside of the cladding is pictured showing nothing protruding through.
The chrome strips are glued/ double sided sticky taped on. Don't expect to remove them and have decent paint underneath.
I removed the chrome strip and had to take a small finger belt sander in the grove/ channel they left behind to get all the crap out, but I was planning on spraying bedliner over it anyway. IMHO It will be impossible to remove the chrome strip such that no painting is required.
That's exactly the knowledge I was looking for. Yours looks great. I have considered maybe plasti-dipping them. If i don't like it, I can just peel it off. I did recently Monstaliner the roof of mine & wish I had thought to use the excess on the strips..
