Tail light Fuse

Hi Everyone,

I have a F150 Lariat 2021, my first F150 ever! really happy with it! Sadly some weeks ago one the left tail light protective glass breaks and water from a storm entered into the lamp, since then it started to fail, i tried to clean it withouth success.

I bought another one and tried to replace it by myself but i am facing some problems:

Break light and turn light works as expected but tail position light stopped working, I tested the full light on the right side and everything works, so the light is ok. Probably the fuse failed because of the water inside the other light.

My clue is that maybe there are diferents fuses for left and right lights and the left one must be broke, but i can't find the tail light fuses in the manual or even in the internet. does anyone know where are those fuse located or if the newest f150 have fuse for rear lights?

I don't want to bring the car to the dealer yet because everything in my country is very expensive.

thanks you all in advance

That is not the way it works now in these computer controlled vehicles.
All the lighting is controlled from a Body Control Module.*
That is why you don't see a dedicated fuse to the left and right lights in the fuse list.
As well, they are part of a minor Bus circuit as part of the Can -Bus System.
To light most all lamps, the headlight switch only signals the BCM* to close power to said light via a Solid State device.
Not like old times where you switch power direct to a light from a dash switch.
Good luck.

Hi! Thanks for the reply, that’s make a lot of sense. A small update from my side.

Yesterday I started playin with the light, from auto to manual, short lights to long lights etc etc and it’s started to work…. Maybe something reseted? Right now they are working as expected. weird…

Most likely corrosion on contacts was the issue. See this youTube video regarding F-150 Tail Light Repair:

The light can not be repaired or have just the element replaced. The entire unit must be replaced. A new set of aftermarket units is probably far less expensive than just one Ford light.
