I have a 85 Bronco and the previous owner had dual exhaust
installed with headers to cats to mufflers and out the rear. as it
is getting cold i notice exhaust smell in the cab in fact I was on my
way to the dr and when i got there I was kinda suffering from a
case of minor co poisoning my bp was up and i was cherry red.
When I left I went to the mullfer shop and they put it on the rack
and said they couldn't find a leak. I noticed in the summer when
I had the rear window down the fumes were overwhelming so I
closed the window and never drove with it down.
My ? is do you think the exhaust out the rear by the bumper is
being drawn into the cab via drafting? Has anyone run a dual
exhaust out behind the rear wheels do you think this would help.
I also have looked and I don't have any holes in the floor board
anymore as i have replaced both the drivers and pass side pans
and welded them in.
Anyway haven't driven it since and that was 2 weeks ago and I
am trying to figure something out. Any help or suggestions are
appreciated.
I would change your setup, I ran dual pipes, but had them exit behind the tires. I would say for sure your rear seals are bad, but one thing to remember is no matter how good those seals are they will not keep out all the exhaust. Have the pipes bent to exit out the sides.
Yeah run them out the side. broncos are known for haveing exaust fumes seep into the cab when exaust it run out the back. I'd get that changed if i were you.
