Ah, just wait! When your vehicles are all electric and $150,000 then you have to pay sub fee or it won’t go! There are advantages to being old……..I won’t be here to see that!

Why pay anything at all when your phone will do the same thing for nothing.

Yup! Especially when you can change things while moving just by speaking to Siri or Google or whoever your “assistant” may be. And your phone is likely more current than any subscription nav, and may show current traffic situations etc. real time.

Yeah I don't really see the need for using the built in nav when Android Auto and Apple Carplay exist.

You're right George. Ford's ability to produce an accurate website is just as bad as their commitment to "Quality is Job 1".

With all the heated discussions about capitalism and socialism, the truth is that we've been totally converted to mindless consumerism. I never imagined someone would rent "lease" a vehicle, but its a big thing. They say millennials are largely uninterested in home ownership and happy with leasing (aside from their inability to afford a home in our current fiscal environment. Hell, I pay for a carwash monthly plan and I've always been against that sort of thing. It's insane and its going nowhere. Once were finally switched over to cyborgs with web integrated brains, our senses and memories will probably be subscription based

It's just not the auto industry that's tried this. I have a CAT motor grader at work that has an auto articulate feature that you have to pay to have. It's was free for the first 500hrs then it becomes a paid subscription. I didn't really need it for my application so I let it go away.

Unfortunately, when I use the Motus App for work mileage, it tends to lock up my phone if I'm also using Google Maps.

I was going to use my Garmin with lifetime maps, but the damn thing bricked when I tried to update the maps. 🤬

I am looking forward to the 23/24 nav capabilities for rv/trailer specific guidance. Today I need another dedicated GPS mounted on the windshield when towing the 5th wheel. Mobile apps for this specialized purpose don't tend to work with Android Auto.

My 2022 KR had subscription navigation. Needless to say that I use CarPlay for my navigation needs.

Because not everyone stays within the confines of cellular coverage. And yes, I know you can download maps to your phone for offline use.
