QuickBooks is pushing everybody into a monthly subscription service for the software and another monthly fee to use the payroll. Going forward I will use my older version of QuickBooks to generate invoices and I will calculate my payroll taxes manually and submit them via the government's website. A little more work on my part but saves me several hundred dollars a year
Ford needs to make money? How about killing the revenue sucking ev program and focus on the parts of the company that actually turn a profit?
Subscriptions? 🖕
They can’t / won’t. Uncle sugar is mandating (or nudging) the automakers to EVs and away from ICE’s. The automakers are all woke anyway, so prob don’t have to be nudged too hard.
So I buy the truck with the nifty camera, but then I have to rent the camera or I can’t use it? Yeah I read about BMW and their heated seat debacle. They deserved that one.
I was just watching a review on the new 2024 F-150. So the 360 Degree Camera System has a subscription.... Yup, you heard me.... A hardware feature in the vehicle you purchased is not available unless you continue to pay for it after 90 days. I suspect this will be coming to the 2024 Super Duties. Personally, I believe this is a HUGE mistake on Ford's part. What do you guys think?
The following is from the 2024 F-15 Build Configurator:
Just in case anyon at Ford is reading this - put me down as a person that will never buy a vehicle with subscription features, or features that wipe when transferring ownerwhip. I'll restomod old junkers before "renting" a vehicle I own. Same goes for right to repair.

Adobe did this a few years back with their Photoshop and other programs, switched everything to subscription based and THEN turned off their licensing servers for older software so you can't reinstall it on another computer. Really pissed me off when I went to install one of my Adobe programs for doing Laser cutting work and couldnt get it to rekey because the servers are no longer online.
There is a big difference between paying to use something you purchased outright and a subscription for a service that provides something additional like a NAV.
It will be a cold day in hell before I buy a vehicle and pay to use the features I already paid for.
What is ridiculous is that BMW tried this nonsense and got nothing to show for it other than pissed off customers, and armed with that knowledge Ford is going ahead and doing the same thing.
Subscriptions for services such as satellite radio and navigation are completely understandable. Subscriptions to 'enable' features bought and paid for by the vehicle's owner ought to be illegal. You could make a case for that on a leased vehicle however.
A mistake is saying bob instead of jim because you spaced on a guys name, or getting your wife mustard when she asked for ketchup. Not writing up and programming on the site that often lacks descriptions on important things.
