Replaced Mode Door Actuator

I know there are a million threads on this topic, but my question is slightly different and I didn't really know how to put it in a search bar to find a thread that might have handled this before.

I replaced the mode door actuator on my 2017 F250 yesterday. A/C and heat were fine, but it would only blow out of dash vents. After replacing the actuator, it would switch between vents, but some things I'm experiencing:
- it doesn't seem steady as if something is not lining up. Almost like it can't figure out how to line up or close off completely when I change it. For example, when first started up it seemed to want to shift slowly between where a majority of the air flow was coming out with air still coming out of another vent.
- the other thing it's doing is when it is set to floor it blows out the dash. When it is set to dash, it blows some out of the floor and stronger out of the dash.

These things lead me to feel like something isn't lining up and that when I put the actuator in, I got something off in the gear before installing or I didn't do something right in lining things up in general.

My thought is to take the new actuator out and with it plugged in toggle between vents to let the truck line it up and then re-install. I'm hoping that would put it in the natural position it is supposed to be in, but before I took that step I wanted to post the issue on here and see if anyone had any better thoughts.

Thanks!

My guess would be the new actuator needs to be calibrated or have a re-learn performed via a scan tool.

What kind of calibration does it need? Dealership? I was thinking these newer actuators are plug and play
