As some may know I bought a used 2016 Ford F150 XL with the 2.7 motor. Truck runs great and looks like new but no maintenance records could be found. I down loaded Ford app but it wont sync. Since it has 82,000 miles, I am going to do as I was told here and start the process of the 100,000 maintenance changing all the fluids in the next few months. At least I will know what has been done to it. My question would be is there a way to find out what has been done since I am sure under warranty, there would be some type of record out there. After warranty, then most due their own so that most likely it would stop there.
I would start by stopping at my local Ford Dealer and talk to a service guy. If Ford did work, it should be recorded. Play your, I'd like to know history and get recommendations card from them.
I didn't get the truck off a Ford dealer so I am not sure how to approach a Ford dealer? I have the Ford app but it shows nothing. For being a 2016, it looks like it was very well taken care of very good almost new looking inside and out. I will make sure the 100,000 mile service is done and move forward. Thanks guys

If you have the Ford Pass app and it doesn't show anything then the service wasn't done at a dealership so no dealership will be able to research it. Just do the complete service and don't worry about it.

As far as I'm concerned, Ford Pass is useless. When I check the record for my 2017, Every single trip to the dealer for repair or recall work is listed. The description is "Unknown Service - $0.00" for every single visit. The system knows I was there but has no record of what was done and some of the warranty repairs were at substantial cost to Ford.
I was just curious. The truck looks new inside and out and runs great so my guess would be it was taken care of. My goal to to keep that up as well. I'm currently cleaning up my old 96 Ford F150 ext cab. Just was time to upgrade since I really would like to just have a truck to maintain, then fix with age issues. Thanks for answering anything I have and may ask.
I think the fordpass app is useless as well for the same reasons listed above. I'm doing my own maintenance on my 2020 Explorer and logging said work into the fordpass app but I don't know if it will be there for ever or not. By logs are far more detailed than the dealer's input and I find that disturbing.
When I worked for the dealership, they liked having the records especially if it showed the work had been done there. AND, the people buying the vehicle seemed to appreciate it.
I bought it from used side of a Chevy dealership. They had way more inventory than Ford or Dodge as well as Toyota had and prices were better. My main thing was staying in my budget range. Thought it would be better to sell my other truck, then doing a trade in.

Go to the Ford dealer and ask them very nicely to run an Oasis Report for your truck. Have your VIN ready.
I'm the same, but I have heard a dealer will discard them; after all, maybe they can sell a second unneeded service.
Yes-traditionally the folder with maintenance records go right in to the circular file-known as the trash can. There is no system to file such records-and most shops do post to CarFax-that will show oil changes and the like.
And the vehicle is worth what it's worth-maintenance records or not.
