I have a 200 inline 6 from a 76 bronco. I am building a go-kart of sorts I guess you could say out of spare parts that aren't worth much. Just cleaning up the yard and building a fun project.
so my engine has a distributor, 3 wires, plug busted off. I'm assuming it went to a harness for the ignition box that would bolt the the fender?
That said, I'm looking at 2 options.
1- trying to set up harness to run engine with current distributor and an ignition box
2- get a points distributor
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the ignition bix option? Bear in mind, this is no longer in a bronco, I just need it to run with a on/off switch.
I can buy a points or hei distributor in the ballpark of $100 give or take. It might be the best option. But those old Ford boxes are pretty reliable. And new ignition box is cheap, maybe $25-30??
Any recommendations?
Get a basic (blue wire backer) Ford ignition module and wire it up, as in a Dura Spark II set up. I have a go cart.....73 Bronco...sort of..... 302 3 spd.
I did not wire mine up, it came with that part already done, but looks to be fairly simple. I put 38.5 tires on my ADULT GO CART and took it to the local car show.
