Ok, well lets think about this some more, seeing as how they don't have to salt the roads in Fla, you must live close to, on & or have been running the beaches???

Just to clarify it spent most of it's life all except 2022-23 parked outside near the ocean in New England in NH & MA. There's your answer!
Unfortunately it had multiple issues mainly rust but other issues as well.. not worth fixing money wise. It's a pity really, it worked hard for me
and it didn't owe me anything... still very sad to see it go.

Yup that'll do it too, salt fog & all the rest will eat em up from the insides-out.

I still have my 99, but it needs stripping to bear metal & re-painting, as Ford didn't properly clean the bare metal before shooting the primer, so its been shedding its paint to the bare metal since the fall of 02, just a couple of months out of warranty. Dealer paint dept said they had never seen one where the primer let go, but Ford wouldn't offer to do Anything, not even share the cost of repainting. Otherwise mine is mechanically ok, so I'm about to have a local paint shop we've used over the years quote a strip, prime & re-paint job.

Love this ole truck, it too has done everything I've ask of it without complaints, so its Earned a tidy up to keep on keeping on!!!

I had a '93 long bed and then a '96 . Both are gone and both were great small work trucks. The long bed was also great for camping. A lot of miles and the AZ heat made it too costly to keep them going.

Darn salt kills the best of them. Son still has my 99 up here in SD, mechanically great 2.5L 5speed two wheel drive but body tough. Daughter keeping my dads 2000 3.0V6 on road but rust starting to hit it as well. Both are north of 250K miles.
My 2011 ordered new with 135K is still clean but only time will tell.
