My old RV (1994 F53 with 53k) developed a little random miss at part throttle, so I pulled the plugs. Number 3 cylinder seems to have an issue. Number 7 plug was the best of the bunch and all but #3 were similar. All were gapped at .045. Number 3 seems to have gotten very hot and is significantly discolored. Also sooty. What would cause something like that.
I replaced them with Denso 5025 "U" groove. Thought I'd try something a little different. Interestingly they are pre-gapped at .033, but the bottom of the groove sits around .050.
Curious to see what the community has to say about all this.
Sooting usually means the sparkplug is running cold... Either from too much fuel, low compression, bad injector, or improper heat range.
since all the other plugs look healthy, first step is to check your compressions.
