Transmission model
Can anyone identify the model of this transmission? It’s a 3 speed with OD. So the shift stick says. Im looking to replace with a T5 if possible? Or any other 5 speed recommendations?
I know the T5 sounds like a plan but note where the shifter is on a T5 and your trans.
The T5 may end up into the seat and may not find a shift handle that will work.
T5 the shifter goes into the top of the trans.
There are other 5 speeds that were used in the F150 /F250 LD trucks that would work.
Forget what its called but it is a Mazda 5sp that 5th is OD. and works pretty good from what I seen posted.
The later years dont have a hole for the speedo but will bolt up and work.
I forget the years but a search should turn up posts on this.

I think your transmission is either a SROD (single rod over drive) or a TOD (toploader over drive).
Both are not great transmissions, little on the weak side.
What is wrong with yours? Think 1 (TOD?) has rubber plugs for the shift rails that all the lube leaks out of.
Also SROD think has issues with shifter play and bad bushings.
The trans you would be looking for is a MOD5-R2 IIRC and was used in 150 & 250 LD trucks with 300 six and 302's.
I know of 1 user that did this swap to 2 different trucks that had 302's one was built up some.
Just note if your truck is a 4x2 you want the same transmission and that goes for 4x4 needs to be 4x4.

A T5 will work good behind your 302 for cruising if you have the seat clearance/right shifter setup and I’d much rather have it than the above mentioned Mazda “truck” transmission.
Not sure why you’re wanting to swap but both the SROD and Toploader overdrive are plenty strong enough behind a 302 cruiser. The shifter for the SROD can be a problem with age. Gear ratios are the worst thing about them. I have the iron cased Toploader OD in a 78 F100 stock 302 and it’s fine.
