My neighbors son somehow punctured a hole through the entire tailgate on his previous 150 truck. Never seen that happen until the military grade aluminum. Also I see lower bed panels with aluminum tears on what would appear to be a minimal rinkle in the panel that just isn't confidence inspiring.
Why are you even in the 2017+ forums with your 2012? You do nothing but bash anyone with a gas engine, and now you are bashing aluminum. What else do you hate about our trucks that you want to start a thread to point out?

Then stick with the older steel bodied Fords or one of the other brands that still uses steel. I just hope you don't live where they use salt. I'll take the few negatives to using aluminum over having the truck rust out in under a decade.

Figures if he can label them as inferior and drive the market down then he might just be able to trade up to one Thats just my guess based on never having anything useful or positive to contribute.

That Blue Kool Aid sure is powerful. We all see your bashing diesels and I simply share my experience which you don't want over here. And now a hole in a bed offends you.
Go back to your thread asking everyone what truck you should purchase.

At least I'm buying trucks that belong in this forum....
The difference between the factory spray-in liner and a Line-X is pretty big. The factory one reminds me of that rubberized undercoating in the rattle cans. Watch a video of someone removing it they can just peel it off in large sections.
Yea old videos of old processes that have been adjusted don't really apply as valid concerns anymore.

I'm of the opinion that the factory bed liner is really good. The one reason that has kept me from a sprayed in bed liner is they fade really bad, but I think the factory liner has best UV resistance of them all.
Not too worried about damage caused by somebody else's negligence. I love the aluminum body so far and my truck is a contractor truck. Not a speck of corrosion anywhere as well, no dents, no tears. I do have some slight rust on axles and frame from when I drove through the Midwest.
Any truck bed would be damaged from that impact. Perhaps the aluminum bed was damaged more than a steel one.......but then it won't be a rusty mess in 10 years either - pick your poison, I did and am happy with my decision.

I peeled up some of my 2022s Ford bed liner around the LED light and 7/12pin bed connector. They didn't do any prep it was smooth paint underneath. I used some spray adhesive to re-attach it before I sold it to a dealer. The factory liner I had was dull grayish black in 6 months. My line-x still looks as dark as when I picked it up over a year ago. The Ford factory liners are NOT better than other companies. Maybe better than some but there are better options out there for about the same price. My line-x was $5 more than Ford's and has a lifetime warranty.

Being able to remove it is not necessarily a bad thing. Once the liner looks faded and tired, peal it off and reapply new liner.
Imagine if they painted the truck so the paint didn't stick and you could just peel it up after some time. Oh wait, the big 3 did that in the late 80s and early 90s and now there are millions of trucks out there with peeling clear coat or peeling paint.
