starting problems

My engine seems to be flooding or missing when I first start it up only for a few seconds then it levels off and runs perfect.I have used efi cleaners, octane boosts, pretty much everything out there.Any help?

Do you have dual tanks? If so does the prob. occur more on one tank than the other? Do a fuel pressure check on both tanks-run each one and shut down b-4 testing.I think factory pressure(I have a '96 4.9 efi) is around 25 psi. It will idle until you get below 7 psi. Hope that helps.

Is it a high pressure system with an electric fuel pump. I still think thats the problem even without dual tanks. By the way the correct fuel pressure with ignition off is actually(if electric) 50 to 60 pounds in 4.9 efi. good luck
