I have a straight 6 that will not start. It turns over but will not start most times. However, occasionally it will start right up. Once it does start it runs fine but if I kill it will not start again. Any ideas?

 

How old are the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor? How old are the filters (air,fuel)? Are you getting spark when this "no-start" problem occurs? What is the fuel pressure when cranking the engine?

Have you tried to check for any stored error codes? Do you have a code reader to read these codes?

 

I am not sure on the age of those things. The pickup was recently given to me. I do not have a code reader. I will try spark plugs, wires, distributor cap first.
