ABS Module

I have a 2004 Excursion 6.0 and am getting the ABS light on intermittently. Reading up on this it sounds like the ABS module needs to be replaced. Bought and started to work on it thinking it was under the driver side battery but instead its in front of it with a serious bracket around it and now room to work. Is there an easy way to reach it? I was thinking maybe through the headlight but that seems a bit tight too and didn't want to start on it if not effective. Really don't want to remove the whole ABS setup and remove the brake lines if don't have to. Open for some suggestions, thanks in advance!

I think taking the fender liner out would be the easiest way to you get to it.

I had to replace mine in the F350 several years back. I had no dash light or code, but the truck had really bad braking issues. There is a test...paperclip test?...you can do to diagnose if the unit is bad. I don't recall it being a big deal to test and replace it...I accessed it ounce the battery tray, bracket, intake, etc. was out of the way...

If you didn't run a scan for codes... I'd do that before tearing into it. Could be wheel sensors or rear axle sensor, a good scan tool would tell you what is causing the light to flash.

Just my thoughts....
