FTE, time to switch out the 1999 berlin eye design front SD springs for some that are heavier duty. Was told diesel SD springs for 6bt.
Early 99-2004 SD gas front leaf spring design
For those of you who have been-there-done-that, what SD spring weights are you running? would X-code SD springs be sufficient?
Reason is going through a 6BT which will take the place of the 4BT.
My understanding was stock 67-77 HD was 2200lb/side. As Xcode (diesel SD) are 2630/, I currently have AFAIK R code (gas SD) which are maybe 1400lb per side. I see a first gen dodge W350 had 1750 or 1900 leaf springs up front. A 6.0 or 7.3 powerstroke is ~950 lbs, the 6bt dodge is maybe 1050lbs.
