Quick Exhaust Question? hurry

OK guys, here's my plan for the time being. I have a 2000 f-150 5.4 4x4 ext cab, what I want to do is replace the muffler with a straight piece of pipe......Can anyone tell me what size and diameter I should buy....this is just a quickie job....I'm getting a complete catback duel out in a couple months but this should hold me over....Does anyone know this off the top of their head? Is this even possible?

I think a glasspack would be easier since the pipe will slip-fit inside of it... with pipe the ends will have to be enlarged to slide the existing pipe into it or you will have to use band-style butt clamps to connect it all together. And I'm pretty sure its 2.5"
