1984 “lariat” ranger f150 4x4
came w the inline 6 and 4 speed manual.
I am third owner and am related to the second. If that matters
i have all the paperwork to include original receipt from original purchase out of Colorado.
Everything from the wheel rotations to oil changes to radio being put in to paint job and the installation of a shop built 302 with hydraulic lifters and a mild cam and headers.
as far as the body goes, some drivers side 1/4 panel rust at the bottom, but the rocker is solid.
some smallllllll rust spots on passenger fender well and rear lower cab corner/door jam. The wood bed is rotted and will be replaced. Floorboards and rockers are solid and interior looks to be in great shape. One crack in dash.
w the wood bed removed I have access to the frame and tank and it’s alll surface rust, I’m gonna take a wire wheel and some por-15. There is zero rust through.
the rear end is a ford 9”
I have no idea on the value of this thing
im also not implying higher value bc of the motor. It’s not factory I get it. Just trying to get an assessed value as someone offered me 3500 and I laughed bc I have no real intention of dumping it, but I believe it’s worth more then that
Good to know. I don’t think I’m sitting on a 10k gem by any means, but I would expect any solidly running 4x4 full size would fetch 3200 no problem. I rusted out clapped out trucks going for 32-3500 all the time. Figured I had something more valuable then thst
Good looking truck. You didn't mention AC. If that's an AC equipped truck and it was around me (central Arkansas), I'd go $4000 all day. Probably would still be tempted at $5000.
I wouldn't be a buyer at all if it wasn't an original AC truck (even if the AC didn't work, it would be a PITA to add it vs fixing it, and I consider AC to be mandatory. I'm fat).
Don't sell yourself short. https://bringatrailer.com/search/?s=1984+f150
If you were anywhere near the NE, I'd buy this all day long....not as many stepsides floating around even if this has a few warts.
I see between 8k and 12k......but I would have to see it in person.
Best idea is to look around for a replacement, same period 1980-86 and see what they are going for.
Also some models are more uncommon now that they are 37 years old ......like that 4x4 step bed and short beds.
Definitely worth more than $3500, I would have laughed too. Easy $5k, and more around here because of rust issues. If I had to put in a guess I'd say it should fetch $7500, less or more depending on geographical location.
K9 - I jut came across this and thought back to this thread. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...omments-anchor
Thats a pretty healthy price and the bidding tends to ramp up in the last few minutes. FYI - i have no affiliation with this sale. Should be interesting......
