Anyone know a good mechanic that works on dent sides that isn't necessarily associated with a commercial shop in the Seattle Bellevue area?
I need help with replacing the drag link and inner tie rod. Also would like to diagnose and issue with my #4 cylinder and evaluate my clutch (I think the throw out bearing needs to be replaced)
Anybody in the Seattle - Bellevue area know somebody with that level of skill that works on these old girls?
The throw out is a little tougher but the rest of it you can do yourself. they'll loan you the pickle forks and puller for your suspension free at the part store you buy your parts from.
You can probably find your problem with #4 as well.
FTE state chapters is a great way to link up with your in state 73-79 buddies for help locating truck pieces, parts and even complete trucks and or parts trucks. Also maybe getting a hand working on one and a great way to get to know a possible neighbor that has a truck parts stash.
And maybe a lead on an area or regional JY that has some of these trucks left in their yards. The Missouri chapter folks had a mini wrench fest and we did a cab and front clip swap in a few hours. Well more like a very long day.

Holy Franken truck Batman!
I used to live in KC.MO and KC K and Lenexa. Miss the bigest small town and "city of fountains."

Not sure if you want to travel past Seattle/Bellevue. I had the guys out at Black Diamond Automotive do the inner axle seals on my 79. They know these old trucks pretty well. The Owner has a bumpside that he drives into work every day.
