C6 specific technical Q

I bought the truck as a project, and it came to me being someone else’s project. As such, there are some things I need to, correct. First of all, the truck has no kickdown linkage installed. It has a C6 mated to a fresh 351 Windsor. The kick down shaft coming out of the transmission does not have a nut on it, so I need to find out what size and thread pitch this nut is so I can buy it (is it a nylock?) and can install my Lokar kickdown cable kit.

There is nothing special about the nut. Just guessing,1/4-20 and a lock washer. A C6 doesn't need a kickdown if it working right..

It is fine threaded, probably 5/16X24. Done 100's of them but never ID'd the thread. Yes, you don't "have" to have it but it nice to have "passing" gear.
