2023 Model Forum

Why is there not a 2023 dedicated forum yet? The truck is different enough to warrant one.

- control modules
-body panels
- HO engine
- vehicle networks

etc. I get really confused now when looking at the forum. Let’s create a new one?

Maybe same reason there is not a 1999-2003 or 2004-2009 section. There are enough similarities between them. They all have 6.7 powerstrokes, and they all have aluminum bodies, and they all have the same modules, just the newer ones have a few more.

I somewhat agree but I think the community will suffer as these new trucks are no where close to a 2017 concerning vehicle networks, diagnostics, cabs etc.

You would be surprised how similar they actually are. Other than a few new modules, all the rest are the same.

This has been talked about several times. No new forums until the SD goes electric.

Yea…agreed on some aspects

But I’ve had both and they could use their own sections in many ways also. Would help keep things more focused in a lot of ways

either way if you look at how they lumped different generations together on here in the past it doesn’t look likely to happen

I think this is an unwise move, but I don’t run the ship.

It would take about 3 minutes to create a new 2023 forum, back when the time was right. It would have saved a lot of silly bickering.

I created a forum once using vBulletin software, Literally, 3 minutes on the backend would have done it. Now, with so many '23 post mixed onto the pile, it would be a lot of work to separate them all out.

You are mistaken, Every body panel is different along with a lot more advanced technology inside and out. Between 2017 and 2022 the 2023ks are far more advanced. Well minus the led tailights,..haha

"Advanced" has little to do with it in my mind, not every owner buys the "advanced" version haha. The fact that the '23 shares very few parts (including the not advanced parts) with the 17-22 is enough to warrant it's own section to me.

Agreed with the “trim package”, again adds for a warranted new forum, mainly because there is old school(xl trimsj and new school ( xlt and above) that needs to be addressed.
But I digress.

Respectfully.

when there are specific 23’ communities on Face Book it’s tough to come here and sort through comments to discern if it’s a 23’ problem or previous gen. While comments on FB are the Wild West, it’s easier to get info on 23’ than here. Maybe someone will change their mind. Heck the 14th gen F150 has a whole site dedicated to it. ECU programming, ota updates, trim specific areas etc. bummer we don’t have that.

While it won't hurt my feelings either way, I do believe that Ford is calling the 23+ a new generation of trucks. A 23+ sub-forum makes sense.

Does the '23 really have 100% new body panels? Does it have a new frame, new suspension, new powertrains?

Admittedly I haven't researched them, but I would think that if they had released a NEW diesel (not an update to the 15 year old one), a NEW platform, NEW cab....we'd have seen it all over the internet. The only new things I see are a 6.8L engine (which is just a tweaked 7.3) and yet another grille.

I'm reminded of the S197 5.0 Mustangs. 11-12 and 13-14 have a LOT of differences including grille, lights, interior, dash, body shape front and rear, and even an updated engine for '13. But those cars are always lumped together because it's the same PLATFORM. If you made a new forum every time a wire changed colors you'd have 1,000 forums.

Yes. REALLY. Different doors, box, frame, different electrical architecture, new transmission, etc. Ford is calling it the 5th gen super duty.
