Mini Maxx questions
I recently bought a 2013 6.7 which is tuned and deleted. One of the parameters it looks at is "Intake". When I first start it up on the morning it's around 85 or so but when I get off work around 4 it's around upper 90's. Now I do know that an engine loves getting air to it so I would think that I would want to keep it around 100 or higher but I can't seem to understand why it's at 85 early in the morning when it's cooler.
Second, does a truck which had been deleted use high sulfur gas? That was one of the questions it asked me when I had to retune it. I figured with it being deleted it would. I quickly found out that my engine did not like that option. Later I also found out that high sulfur diesel was what used to be used for diesel trucks before emissions became a big thing. That was many years ago from what they were saying, before the mini tuner was even thought of, so why would that be an option? Plus all the gas stations, around here anyway, only offer ultra low sulfur.
Another thing he mentioned was that it didn't look like they took everything out when they deleted it, but just unplugged things. I honestly have no clue if that's the case or not, however I can say there is a wire that's not connected which a mechanic told me wasn't needed if the truck was deleted. He, (not the mechanic) said that if I didn't get everything removed which needed removed that it would clog up my..exhaust? I don't remember what exactly would get clogged up but it would be good. Does this sound familiar to anyone? This guy said I should be blowing black smoke with everything removed. (I don't want black smoke, white smoke or any smoke coming from my vehicle.)
Below, are pics of the engine compartment if that helps anyone.
Also, if anyone has helpful tips it things to know about the mini Maxx please share.
