Does not seem like a serious drain at first glance.
Do you have a radio with memory installed? Clock or other devices that need a memory that take a few milli-amps to stay alive?

I don't remember what the natural state of decay is for a disconnected battery, or for a connected battery when there are small loads on it.
But yours seems to be doing ok for now. As was said, run it and see how it fares. And running it around will keep you from having to worry about it draining too far!

Hmm, speaking of which... Time for me to re-attach the charger to my two trucks that have not gotten much love from me in awhile!

Exclamation

voltage today - 12.11v . I guess that is ok , but I was expecting at least 12.6v , but 13v I thought was the norm , especially for a new battery............
I read a load test @ parts stores will ruin a weak very battery..........

A standard battery is only going read 13 V for a short time after it has been charged.
Under normal conditions it will never read over 12.6, and it slowly goes down from there naturally. Even disconnected, a battery loses it’s charge at a certain rate.
I’m sure you can look up online what the normal rate of loss for your type of battery is.

Don’t check your battery, expecting to see more than it’s capable of.
Don’t expect to see the same voltages that it has been charging at. By pushing higher voltages, that’s how the alternator is able to recharge a battery.
But it doesn’t stay there when the alternator stops charging.

I’ve never heard that said out loud, but I don’t dispute that the possibility exists.
But I have to say, from my perspective at least, if that happens, that battery was already having a near death experience.
In other words, it was lucky they were having it tested that day!

Batteries do age out. Some sooner than others. And poor charging system performance, other forms of neglect, or just a tough environment can make that time even shorter.

I may revisit the article , but it was very logical by the explanation . Seems tester puts an enormous strain on a savable battery & frequently ruins them ! Now it was from a reliable source even though the book is 50 years old or so.............most all information in book seems to hold mostly true because it was published when these trucks where new.............I know there is newer technology , but usually there is some truth to almost all info because stock trucks have not changed that much...........suck , squeeze , boom , push ..........repeat.............ha..............oh... my............

Sometimes too much info is debilitating. Tends to get in the way of rational thinking.
