Hi new to site was driving my expedition the other day and it just quit like i had cut the key off tried to start it but starter clicked but engine would not turn over had it towed to the house. First i replaced the battery same thing next the starter engine still wouldnt turn over removed radiator shroud and fan removed serpentine belt checked alternator, power steering pump and a/c compressor neither was locked up. Well i got a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft pulley and it appears the engine is locked up. all fluids are changed and maintained on a regular basis no funny noises or smells nothing im puzzled what should i look at next? Im hoping someone on this site can help thanks ike50

That should be the focus of your attention.
The starter clunked because the engine won't turn. Have you tried starting it in neutral to see if it spins. If it does then it's the tranny or torque converter that locked up, not the engine. You could also pull the spark plugs, then try turning the engine. With the spark plugs removed you won't be fighting compression when turning the engine.
