Fuel system help
Hello, I’m writing in hopes of getting help with my f-250 fuel system. I stupidly bought a truck unseen from a consignment dealership and have had so many issues. It’s never ran and I need to figure out the fuel system. I have a 1974 f250 4x4 with a 360. I was getting fuel to the carb but it never started or ran great so I found a deal on a new holly 500cfm and went to install it but am not getting fuel now. I discovered it has an inline electric fuel pump that clicks so loud as soon as you turn the key on and is plumed off the mechanical fuel pump. Now that I’m not getting fuel what advice do you guys have? Should I replace to mechanical and delete the electric or should I replace the electric and plumb it straight from the tank? Or do I replace both pumps and keep it plumbed how it is? Also I have two tanks, one in the rear and in the cab, which one is considered the main tank? The rear tank was not an option, so who knows what might be the case there. the seat tank is your main tank and only factory tank on a high boy.
I would toss the electric pump and run a new mechanical one. make sure the fuel line not messed with from the seat tank to the pump and then to the carb. worry about the add on tank once it's running correctly.
