TPS being weird
So. On the last tps sensor I replaced I had a little green oring/gasket type deal that went onto the probe that connects to the tb and it worked fine. This new one I changed out didn’t have that but I replaced it anyway and now it’s not even showing a reading on my scanner for throttle percentage. I was hoping someone on here could grant me with some wisdom as I’ve not messed with the sensors to much

The last sensor you replaced? How long ago was that and why are you replacing it again? I hope you are using Motorcraft sensors. Did you install the sensor correctly so that the tabs on the throttle body are turning the sensor when the throttle is opened?
I don’t remember there being an o-ring but I haven’t replaced a TPS in a long time. Did you try reusing the one from the old sensor?
Another question for you… what vehicle are you working on?

I replaced it the first time about 8 months ago. It’s a 1996 f150 with the 351. I used a standard ignition sensor since they were cheaper and have a lifetime warranty at the store I worked at. The spacer was like lime green and about 1/4” height.
