If you ever intend to replace valve springs now if the time. I just did them with engine still in the truck and it’s a time consuming process. Seals too and 50 cent mod on the way out. Also torque injectors and rocker arms while you are there. Fuel lines Hpop upgrades maybe?

Buy the weldable oil dip stick adapter, reseal the entire engine, I would go as far as removing the heads and install new valves and 910-16 springs. And of course clean and paint the engine.

@FordTruckNoob Not really fixed on a budget, but don't want to go to wild on anything right now. I did decide to replace the oil pan, and I'll install a weld in bung at the same time, I might get it sprayed with Linex bedliner while its out as well. Thank you for the other suggestions!

The starter bolts thread into a spacer plate between the tranny and the engine, You have access to this currently.. I helicoiled these while I had the chance. The plate comes right off so you can do a nice square drill job with a drill press. I used M10x1.5 3D helicoils and bought 40 mm long bolts at the local Napa store to catch most of the threads.

I replaced flex plate also based on several recommendations here….Eswift recommended the one available from Summit, that’s the one I went with. If you have a manual transmission, look at putting in the valley drain tube mod. You can see that in the tech folder.
