Dash wiring identification
So in the process of fixing some wiring misroutes I found this big flat plug toward the top of the wiring behind the instrument cluster (this flat plug sits on top of the harness that t’s off the ignition switch.
my question is, what is it? There are two wires that just loop. A RED/BLUE wire and a BLACK/ORANGE wire.

I think that is your Neutral Safety Switch bypass connection, beings your truck is a manual transmission. Here is an article that talks about it:

I think that is your Neutral Safety Switch bypass connection, beings your truck is a manual transmission. Here is an article that talks about it:

I think you nailed it, sure looks like the critter. Wonder if a guy could steal switched power from that line? 🤔

nope, one side is crank only and the other is for the reverse lamp circuit I believe. I know without that jumper it won't start.
