Hi, new to the forum. Looking for tips and tricks.
I'm rebuilding a 1959 F100. I have the original 292, and from I can tell on the trans plate a fordomatic. Very worn lettering so I believe it's PBM-D. Either way I want to put a 302 in this truck. The engine and transmission mounts are stock and in stock location. My question is will a 302 and (yet to be determined trans) fit in stock mounts in their stock location? I was told the 292 and trans mount at about 6 feet where a 302 and trans would mount around 8 feet. Any help would be appreciated, plus advice on a trans. My end goal is to have a truck with some get up an go, but I'll also haul a tear drop sized trailer for my wife and I to take camping. Not a work truck by any means.
