I was working on changing the pinion seal and diff fluid. And I have a problem. I don’t have a torque wrench that goes low enough to measure the rotational force to put it back a little higher when installing. Can I just go off the specified torque and count the threads and put it a little higher than that?
I have the drums off so there’s no resistance. Both the Haynes and the ford manual say to use the torque wrench to measure the torque as well. But its not able to measure the torque so I have no idea what to do.
is it worth the risk of blowing up my diff for a seep?

I decided against tearing the gears out and doing the preload. So I am just changing the fluid. Can I use the electronic cleaner to spray the diff? I don’t have brake clean
