Old tools. Off topic, maybe
I have a “set” of these tools that were part of my fathers toolkit from when he worked at Douglas Aircraft in WWII.
They appear to be solid stainless with a knurled bead. The ends are relieved and have two flats 180 apart.
Any idea what they are and how they were used?

Looks to be part of a depth or width gage set. The head may have a dial gage or linear scale.

They look like part of an inside diameter telescoping micrometer set. Do they screw in to change length?
I used those in A&P school to measure cylinder diameter.

They are solid. And appear to have length markings on them. I have cylinder bore measurement tools but they are self contained.
thanks for the input, guys. I’ll look for some sort of “end gauge “ to complete them.

Confirmed……. They are extending rods for inside measurement. The flat faces turn in a recess to spin the dial. Sorry I do not have a pic of the readout. But you guys were right on the money. Thanks

Sure, Jack. But is there enough room in your trophy case for another one?
