But now the current XLT is almost as nice as the previous KR trucks
and can’t we say that about your 19? That “we can’t believe how expensive it’s gotten compared to the same truck from 4 or 5 years prior?
When you paid 67k for yours some dude with a 2014 or 2015 was saying “I only paid 50k….couldn’t imagine paying almost 70k for a truck”
inflation is a bitch and we can all agree it’s be nice if everything was cheaper lol
There's more to it than that....the reason he can say his KR was $67 OTD was not only because sticker price was obviously lower, but also because there were actually discounts and incentives that are mostly non existent today (I'm starting to see some). The $4k PCO is just one. Back then 10% off sticker was easy, and it wasn't hard to get even more off. My '19 came out to 18% bellow sticker. Today buyers are happy to have paid MSRP, or ecstatic to pay invoice on the already higher priced vehicle. So yeah, I think it’s safe to say that we all miss those not to long ago days on the 17+ forum, when PCO's were abundant and you didn't have to bring the Vaseline to the dealership.
As for year comparisons, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would take a '19 KR over a '23 XLT.
I wish someone here would separate the model years in their own category,...'17-'19's,...'20-'22's, and '23+. If i'm interested in topics for my MY why do I have to see all the other MY's that don't appy?
Amen, I am new here with a 2019, sold my 17 F150 and was very active on F150forum. Click on 17 up Superduty over here and all I see are posts about 22 and 23 MY, kind of irritating honestly. Likewise, is there a members builds section somewhere on this site?
Ford got wise to the passing of PCO and now tie it to an email that ties to the actual person. When you receive the PCO in an email, the dealer can look up your name in Vincent and find it (provided you previously purchased a Ford or have a Fordpass account). Ford no longer email blasts them.
One other thing I saw mentioned. The break down of MY. Other than body changes and transmissions, the 17-23 Super Duty is still the same truck. True now the 6.2 has been replaced with 6.8 and 7.3, and has a 10 speed, but overall, what works on a 17 still works on a 22 and might even work on a 23. It's not like when the 17 came out where it was a totally different truck to a 16, only the engine and trans remained the same, everything else was different.
Over the year the changes were so minor that you can still use wiring diagrams from a 17 on your 22 to find what you need to tap into. Majority of differences are cosmetic.

Oh yeah, a LOT better! Just remember to use the WDH cause it will still sway even if you don't need to transfer anything. Been there lived it! LOL
I traded Precious for a 19 F-450 so whatever you need on the 19 give me a shout maybe I can help
Thanks, I have the Equalizer E4 and just set it up yesterday. I need a center console and some center stack vents, I think Obsidian, but I haven't pulled one yet to check. I have Katzkin laying out in the basement so some wrinkles will come out and a WatsonTech SYNC3 upgrade on the way. Then it's small stuff, remote start, tailgate assist, Starkey bed light kit. Took some weathertechs out because, well garbage and put some Husky Weatherbeaters in. Also going to use a SCT BDX to monitor the transmission and coolant temps. Installed a DeeZee bed mat over the Linex and a Tyger tonneau cover. Whatcha got? PM me here or there if you want.
Wish my XLT was. I don't have: LED headlights, power pedals, power folding mirrors, heated steering wheel, heated seats, rear sliding glass, 110v power outlets, power seat, carpet, auto climate control, or a 8" screen. Absolutely nothing. It's basically a base XL truck with chrome grille. Very odd how stripped down this truck was for the 2019 model year when the competitors' trucks pretty much had most or all of these things on the mid level trim.
My 2023 XLT has: power pedals, power folding mirrors, rear sliding glass, 110v power outlet, carpet and an 8" screen.
That sort of confirms what the poster said about how the newer XLT's are much more appointed than the older XLT's.

Not exactly, carpet was standard, and most of those, except maybe power pedals, could be optioned on an XLT back then. He was talking about his specific XLT, not true of all. If they are now standard features, not optional, then it's baked into the higher base price.
I could tell you a funny story about that... as a licensed electrician working on pool equipment... but this probably isn't the right forum for that...
"Hey guys, just got my electric SD today - is this plug ok to charge with?" (posts a picture of a 15amp receptacle horribly wired with 14-3 to a 30amp breaker in a sub-panel that has ground and neutral bonded.

My '99 XLT didn't really have much... just power windows, doors, and mirrors, cloth seats and carpet.
My '09 XL has the 'convenience package'... so it is, essentially, a base XLT (power windows and doors, chrome bumpers, power mirrors) with no carpet.
My 2023 STX splits the two, trim-wise, but has waaaaay more junk on it than either of those trucks... including cameras, Sync4, parking sensors. Some of it was built into the STX package (like 4WD...) and a little more was added options (mostly towing/hauling options) but a lot of it was just the base model truck... for better or worse.
Personally, I don't like all the added stuff. Take all that junk out... to include the 10-speed auto... and give me a basic truck, with power windows and doors, and a manual. I don't even care about carpet.

Someone purposely ordered that truck stripped down. Yes, a base XLT didn't have a lot more over an XL, but it could be optioned up with the XLT Value package (what I ordered), and a XLT Premium package at the time. Just the Value package added fog lights, power pedals, power seat, the nicer instrument cluster, and a few other things I can't remember now.
