Tell us more? Engine, trim, 2 or 4 wheel. You know all that stuff. Was this all downhill?

From the OP profile:

2021 F350 XL SCLB 4x4, 7.3L, 4.30's Leer 122 cap

I think it's the real deal, unlike post 4......

Mine will get 26 MPG for a few moments right after a fill up when I reset the trip counter at just the right spot on the way home from the gas station.

The best actual sustained mileage the computer ever displayed was on a mildly cool morning after several hours of backcountry two lane highway at about 65 MPH was 17.5. So given the "just right" conditions 19 might be doable at least for a little while.

What are the engine and idle hours? Is this an empty truck, nothing in the bed or towing?

That was the average for that tank. I have found out that filling her half way up gives me 2 mpg better then from running a full tank. I find that interesting because I have several hundred pounds that is always in the bed (bed platform and queen size mattress with toilet and several totes of junk). The longest idle on that tank was at stop lights (30 seconds x 10). The truck was also running at its preferred outside temperature and humidity. Seems the 7.3 likes cool mornings and cooler daytime temps and average pressure (1013.2 mb). Like the ole saying says, "When the planets are all aligned..." My 43500 mile average is still 15.1 mpg. I pulled my boat to my brothers the other day and still got 15.4 mpg at 62 mph.

Well almost two years later after posting this and have not beat those numbers. 61000 miles on her and my numbers are the same: 13.3 mpg at 80 mph, 14.5 mpg at 70 mph and 16.4 at 58 mph. The weight and gearing doesn't like 55 mph for the better mileage. The truck still loves straight gas like Sinclair 87. I have not been able to duplicate the 19 mpg tank at the start of this thread. To me it is suspect but if it is the only outlier I will take it.
