I have a 1996 F-250 with a 460. It’s been running rich and fuel pump doesn’t cut off. I’m thinking it’s a vacuum issue with the fuel pressure regulator. The reason I think that is because I found a broken vacuum line on the valve cover on the passenger side. See picture. I can’t find where it goes and I can’t find a diagram that I understand to show how they are routed. I haven’t checked the fuel pressure which I realize I probably should do. I’m a novice at the so any help would be appreciated and if I’m off-base point me in the right direction.
That spot on the valve cover is for the PCV valve. The fuel pumps should run continuously when the engine is running. However, if you turn the key to "on" without starting the engine, the pump should run for 2 seconds and shut off.
Your processor is toast if the fuel pump runs constantly with the key on
That PCV valve gets full vacuum from a 3/8 hose that must be capped now or it would not run
It goes to manifold vacuum
