A little Engineering advice here please!

New to this group folks, been to FordBarn and JalopyJournal, and they think this is a good place to be.

Need to work out how to mount an Aluminum Radiator into where the OLD radiator is, and widget both the Hood Support Rods and the Hood retainer pin thing into the picture...
The YELLOW line is about where the edge of the NEW Aluminum radiator will be. The PINK circles are where the Rods and hood retention pin are now also.

Should I just weld a 3"wide extension forward for the rods and retainer?

ntion thing? Should I just weld an extension onto the radiator for the rods and hood retainer, maybe 5" long and 3" wide?

That's what I would do. Wouldn't be difficult to fabricate a bracket to do it. My only concern would be the load that will be put on the aluminum tank. Need to fab a bracket that will spread the load out there. Nice project...interesting motor mounts.

If you are going to mount the cowl over the Radiator, you are going to need brackets to mount it to as well. make that piece fit over the rad. and spread the load as stated previously. Basically a cover for the rad.
