2006 6.0 Glow Plug issues

2006 6.0 Glow Plug issues

Hey all,

I keep getting an error code for glow plug, would this cause hard startup and hesitations while driving?
is this an issue that should be resolved ASAP, am I causing damage if I drive it still?

Glow plugs can definitely cause a difficult start. The glow plugs shouldn't cause any running issues at all.

If it is warm where you are, I doubt that you'd experience start-up trouble.... Is it a long crank?

I’m thinking the hesitation while driving might be the EGR valve, since they make us have one on our diesel here in California (dumbest thing ever!)

What data reader are you using? Otherwise, without codes or data you are guessing and that gets real expensive.

If the glow plug system has excessive electrical draw, it cis possible for it to cause a crank, no-start. Typically it is a GPCM failure that could result in the significantly increased current draw (enough to drop the PCM power voltage). Not particularly common though.
