I am looking for a set of mount brackets for a step bumper for my 68 F100. I am finding plenty of them for the standard bumper and for a step side truck. Mine is the style side. What is the difference in the mounting position between a step side and an style side? I have seen comments where they say the OEM parts are the same for both, but when I look on the websites for the brackets, they specify for step side only.
You most likely have a dealer-supplied bumper, not a Ford manufactured bumper. Those came in 69: https://www.fordification.com/tech/i...r-rearstep.jpg
So who knows if Ford brackets will fit a dealer bumper? Flare side bumpers are totally different so the mounts are different.
I just found a set that will work with my bumper through Westin. They have the main brackets that go from the frame rails to the tabs inside the bumper. I will fabricate the angle brackets out of some flat stock.
