Factory subwoofer input levels

Factory subwoofer input levels

Can anyone tell me if the factory subwoofer amp (Explorer- 2000 vintage) has speaker level inputs or pre-out level inputs? I was thinking of using a factory amp/woofer enclosure with my aftermkt stereo. Does this sound like a worthwhile proposition?

Speaker Level inputs, I believe, I'm not 100% sure though.

Thanks acerockola77. And to whoever else is out there, I'd appreciate any other info on this subject. I was thinking of using a factory setup because I don't need booming bass, just more than 5X7's will dish out. Also, the circuit schematic shows that the amp connector has a terminal for "subwoofer high audio mute" - any clues about that? (My Explorer didn't come with the factory sub - so the hookup isn't there to check out. Thanks all.

I'm sure they are speaker level inputs.

Yes they r speaker level inputs and the mute may be for the mute on the radio

Thanks all. Only problem is that the sub I was looking at got sold while I wasn't paying attention - anyone know where to get one for a reasonable price?
