Back to the steering assembly. Followed with interest, as my '51 F1 is very loose, even after replacing all front suspension parts. Where were you able to find the steering worm gear and sector assembly? I have a local machine shop I would trust to do the work, as I don't have press, etc. Many thanks!

Thanks so much for the info, I very much appreciate the part numbers. Of course I prefer the proper hub. The hub that I have part number is 8M1108-A3. Other numbers on the part are 33521 K-H CD. I have the same gap around the hub as the one in the thread you gave me but the lugs do not fit tightly in the drum. Races fit perfectly. Thank again

@bassdr, Many of the specialty Ford parts vendors have what you need to rebuild your F-1 steering box:

Sector Gear and Pin: 7RC-3575
Worm Gear (less shaft): 7HC-3524
Sector Business (2 required): 78-3576-A
Sector Oil Seal: 8A-3591-A
Worm Lower Bearing Cup: 8A-3553
Worm Bearing Cup: B-3552
Worm Roller Bearing (2 required): 68-3571-A
Gasket Set: 7C-3581

I have the same gap as the one on the thread you sent but the lugs don't fit tightly in the drum holes. Of course I prefer the proper hub and will be pursuing that as you have advised. Thanks again.

The 8M-1108-A3 is a Mercury front hub bolt.

The K-H likely stands for Kelsey-Hayes which makes a lot of wheel centric products.
